I enjoy art that is narrative, humorous, and entertaining. I was a latchkey kid reared on comic books, cartoons and video games. My work represents this altered perception. I have taken particular moments in my life, and have placed it through an animated, cartoony filter. I view comic books, illustrations and cartoons as art forms in which to communicate to a wide audience.

Plus they are silly.

Bio Steve Hamann is a graduate of Illinois State University with a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. He lives in Evanston and works as an elementary school art teacher where he steals ideas from his students with impunity.
